February, 2005 Chapter Meeting
Larry Owens

Set to planetarium music and reduced lighting, Larry started the February meeting by covering the status of the chapter's utility trailer, progress on the Byers mount, and images added to the Astro-Imager Focus area of the Charlie Elliott website.  One very special announcement was the proposed donation of an "Alcor" motor control circuit for the chapter's Byers mount by Michael Covington and UGA.

Many thanks to Michael Covington and the University of Georgia!  The "ALCOR" circuit will dramatically improve the performance of our mount, and will even provide an autoguider port for astrophotography.

What's Up Tonight:
Debbie Jones

As usual, Debbie gave a very informative presentation of interesting objects to view later from the observing field.

Fortunately the weather did clear for a few hours just after sunset, enabling several of our chapter members to view Saturn, the crescent moon and several dark sky objects through their telescopes from the observing field.
