This month's talk was based on a NASA Night Sky Network kit called "Black Hole Survival".  It was a study in space-time, the flexible fabric of space and of course Black Holes!

To demonstrate Einstein's concept of gravity, a flexible fabric (representing space) was stretched across open plastic tubs with heavy metal artificial stars placed at the center, all provided by the NSN kit.  Steve is attempting to place a satellite in orbit.

The lecture portion of the presentation included an overview of Einstein's theory of relativity and the concept of "Black Holes" with recent images images from the Keck telescope of stars rapidly orbiting a very massive and unseen object at the center of our galaxy.

Several chapter members tried their hand at launching satellites into the fabric of space-time.

The "Majestic Four".  The wise and knowledgeable section of our audience.

Since Steve's presentation didn't include furry creatures or bones, Junior (our chapter mascot) decided to take a well deserved nap.

Thanks for a great presentation Steve!
