A Dark Matter

Clevis Jones

Larry started the meeting off
with a discussion of the design for the 16" optical tube assembly for
the Galaxy Optics 16" mirror. Larry is "hoping" to get it
fabricated by the Jake's Day festival, that wasn't a promise, but he'll
try.

Debbie Jones is serving again as our election committee and she spoke
about the elections coming up this May, encouraging members to volunteer
for office or to make nominations by contacting her at
Debbie@CEastronomy.org

"A Dark Matter" was our
feature presentation given by Instructor in Astronomy, Fred Buls
(above). Fred's presentation covered various theories about the
mystery of "Dark Matter" in the universe.
For more information about Fred's fascinating presentation, please see
our April Meeting Minutes or you can
access Fred's
presentation online. |

Fred's presentation attracted a nice crowd,
despite heavy rain and thunder storms.

Heavy thunderstorms began to roar during our feature
presentation, causing many guests to leave early. A brave and
hearty few stayed for our Current Events program, expertly presented by
Clevis Jones. |

Unfortunately, Steve Bieger wasn't able to make the
meeting this month so there was no "What's Up" segment. Steve did
promise an April "Watch List" for the webiste though.
Fred gave an absolutely
superb and enlightening presentation as usual! Don't forget, if
you missed Fred's presentation,
it's available
online. |
