Debbie Jones started the meeting off
by expertly conducting the chapter's yearly election of officers.
The results: Director - Larry Owens, Observing Supervisor - Steve
Bieger, Recording Secretary - Clevis Jones. Congratulations to
all!
Chapter director Larry Owens' business presentation included a look at
the new 16" OTA, or rather the parts for the OTA. Larry indicated
that the hardened steel spine for the telescope is so sturdy "it could
lift a '66 Buick". In keeping with the seemingly battle hardened
OTA and the massive Byers mount, Larry suggested we name the scope.
Some suggestions included "Battle Scope", "Hum-V", "M-1". If you

"PhotoShop for Astro-Imagers"
was our feature presentation given by Larry Owens. The
presentation started with a bit of background on the PhotoShop
application, some basics about astro-photography and PhotoShop.
Larry's presentation them moved into a demonstration of the tools of
PhotoShop and how to correct several classic problems with astro-images.
