Images from the Camp Twin Lakes Event

November 11, 2006, Rutledge, Georgia

Camp Twin Lakes is a youth organization dedicated to kids with special medical needs.  The chapter was asked to host the camp's first "astronomy" event by Josh Sweat of Twin Lakes in October, and several chapter members volunteered immediately.  We had originally planned to have an outdoor event with telescopes, but the weather did not cooperate.  So, Larry Owens volunteered to give a NASA Night Sky Network presentation called "Shadows & Silhouettes" to 60 eager kids and adults, while chapter members Jon Wood, Fred Rose, Clevis & Debbie Jones and Angus Owens helped stage the event.  We all had a great time, and the kids had a chance to get excited about astronomy.  Many thanks to the tireless efforts of our volunteers!
