December Current Events
Jim Honeycutt

Jim Honeycutt was our "Current Events" speaker this month, offering information on comet Machholz, the upcoming Geminid meteor shower, the occultation of Jupiter, Cassini at Saturn, and a bonus presentation called Frustrations of Beginning Astrophotography.

Here Jim is showing the path of comet Machholz, from south of Orion to the Pleiades.

Thanks Jim for an Excellent Presentation!

What's Up Tonight:
Debbie Jones

As usual, Debbie gave a very informative presentation of interesting objects to view later from the observing field.  CEC was entertaining guests from Monroe Georgia: the George Walton Academy High School Junior and Senior Astronomy classes.  Debbie explained how she finds true west and true north.  She then presented a slide show rich in detail covering naked eye, binocular, and some telescope objects, which would be visible that night.

Unfortunately, the sky did not cooperate.
